After Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, former Premier League player Jamie O'Hara has been attacking a few Chelsea players. For instance, O'Hara wasn't impressed with Nicolas Jackson's finishing even though the 23-year-old scored Chelsea's first goal.
Jackson only has two goals this season, but he might have easily had four more if the Senegal international had played better versus Palace and Manchester City. However, Jackson has not been the only Chelsea star that O'Hara has targeted after the Blues and Eagles drew.
Enzo Fernandez, the second-most priced player in Chelsea's history, led the team earlier at Stamford Bridge. However, O'Hara believes Romeo Lavia is superior to him and that he should not be anywhere close to their team.
Following Chelsea's London derby against Crystal Palace, the former Tottenham Hotspur player commented on Sky Sports, “I am not having Enzo Fernandez. I am not having him. I don’t think he is good enough. They paid a lot of money for him, £100 million, they have made him the captain of the football club. I don’t think he deserves to play in midfield. Lavia is a better player.”
Although O'Hara doesn't appear to like Fernandez, Noni Madueke, a teammate, does. Following Chelsea's victory over Servette in the opening leg of the Conference League play-off match, Madueke paid tribute to Fernandez's passing.
Is Enzo Fernandez going to be a big problem for Chelsea this season?
Enzo Fernandez has most likely played in worse games. Even though he misdirected a few passes against Oliver Glasner's team, he continued to control the game, especially during the first half. The 23-year-old's issue is that his price tag exceeds £100 million. People will be looking on him to be the best at everything at that price.
But Fernandez can only do so much as a midfield player. I think it's a bit much to say that the Argentine isn't sufficiently good to play for Chelsea, but maybe he could control games a little longer and more consistently. Ally McCoist, the commentator, has asserted that Romeo Lavia stands out more than Fernandez even though the 20-year-old has hardly played any football for Chelsea.
