Al-Hilal, one of the most successful Football Clubs in the Asian Continent, is reportedly pushing for the signing of Portuguese fullback Joao Cancelo from Manchester City. They are reportedly in close talks with Cancelo's agent to finalise the transfer before the end of the Summer transfer window.

The Portuguese Full back who spent the last season and a half on loan to Bayern Munich and Barcelona, seems to have no future in Manchester City. Barcelona FC looked interested in signing Cancelo but their present financial plight is a major roadblock in the process. Even Cancelo preferred to stay at Barcelona, but with almost no time left in the closing of the summer transfer window, Cancelo may well have to change his plans and drift towards the Saudi Pro League unless he decides to be without a Club past August 31st.

The 30-year-old Cancelo still has the potential to play at the European level, but with no other clubs showing interest in signing the defender with the funds that are required Cancelo is only left with Al Hilal's offer. If Cancelo accepts Al Hilal's offer, he will bid farewell to the Premiere League Champions after 5 long years. Manchester City bought Cancelo at a staggering £60 million from Juventus in 2019 and he was considered one of the best in his position under Guardiola.

Al Hilal's current Full-back, Saud Abdulhamid, is on his way to join Italian Club AS Roma for a transfer fee of £3 million. It is reported that Saud Abdulhamid will travel to Roma on Monday, the 26th, to finalize the deal.

Hence, the Saudi Arabian Champions are looking for the services of a world-class full-back, and Cancelo is the club's favourite pick amongst all others in the transfer window.
