France has confirmed that Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy will not be joining the national team due to a tibia injury. This setback comes after the 29-year-old has struggled with frequent fitness issues in recent times. The injury was sustained during Real Madrid's 2-0 La Liga victory over Real Betis where Mendy had to be substituted after 65 minutes. The French Football Federation announced on Monday that Mendy has suffered damage to his shin bone.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mendy has been regrettably unable to join Didier Deschamps's squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures in September. This means that he will not be available for the matches against Italy and Belgium. The exact nature and severity of Mendy's issue have not been officially disclosed by either the French national team or Real Madrid. However, reports suggest that the 29-year-old's condition is not deemed to be overly serious and is attributed to overexertion.

The Expected Tenure of Mendy's Absence

This development further compounds the injury challenges faced by Carlo Ancelotti, who is already managing the absence of David Alaba due to an ACL injury, as well as the unavailability of key midfielders Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga. Neither Real Madrid nor French Management has revealed anything regarding the tenure of Mendy's absence due to the injury.

Despite all the injury woes, Real Madrid trotted on their unbeaten start in the La Liga season. Thanks to the Two Second Half Goals from the Ninja Turtle Mbappe, Ancelotti's men sailed past Real Betis with a deserving 2-0 victory.

In the early phase, the La Liga Points table is led by Catalian's Barcelona, followed by Los Blancos, who sits second. The Catalian return to action on September 14 against Real Sociedad after which they will face Stuggart in the opening fixture of their Champions League.
