Fenerbahce, a Turkish powerhouse, has begun negotiations to intensify their pursuit of Manchester United centre back Victor Lindelof. After missing out on Euro 2024, the Sweden international has been having a peaceful summer, but if Lindelof exits Old Trafford, things may get hectic soon.

Journalist Yağiz Sabuncuoğlu claims that Fenerbahce has initiated formal negotiations to get Lindelof into the team before the upcoming season. Jose Mourinho, who brought Lindelof to United in 2017, may be poised to sign the Swede again with Fenerbahce, having just been appointed manager.

After leaving Benfica, Lindelof had stints both in and out of the lineup. During the Reds' many injury problems that season, which left the defence thin, he was an invaluable backup for Erik ten Hag. Lindelof played centre back as well as full back (both flanks).

If United wants to add players to the roster, they must begin selling players. If Lindelof becomes available for transfer, no supporter will have any more sleepless nights. He has struggled to get playing time under manager Erik ten Hag since the Dutchman preferred players like Varane, Maguire, and Martinez. Possibly the most unforgettable event he had while wearing United's jersey was the FA Cup semifinal matchup with Brighton in 2022–2023.

Manchester United look to sign new forward as back-up

According to reports, Manchester United has its sights set on Xavi Simons of Paris Saint-Germain after an outstanding loan at RB Leipzig. While the Dutchman is abroad representing the Netherlands in Germany for UEFA Euro 2024, there is a lot of conjecture about his future because Arsenal, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich have all been linked to him as a transfer target.

With Rasmus Hojlund being the sole natural centre-forward at the team after Anthony Martial left this month after his contract expired, United is reportedly searching for a new forward this summer. Simons is a flexible player that can be used on either wing.
