AC Milan Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimović has shared his thoughts on the club’s decision to sign Chelsea attacking midfielder Joao Felix on a permanent deal. Felix made the move to AC Milan on loan during the January transfer window, seeking more consistent playing time after facing challenges at the Premier League club Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca.

He is set to remain at San Siro for the remainder of the season and may become a permanent stay by the next summer transfer window.

Zlatan hints at Felix's permanent transfer

The Portuguese manager had already provided a comprehensive explanation for his choice to depart Stamford Bridge and join the Italian giants. When discussing the possibility of a permanent move for the former Atlético Madrid player, Ibrahimović commented that absolutely anything is possible.

Felix departed Atlético Madrid, where he had little opportunity to play under Diego Simeone, to join Chelsea in the summer of 2024.

“Everything is possible. We wanna trust João in order to see his best performances, then everything is possible”, Zlatan told Sky.

This marks his second tenure at Stamford Bridge, where he joined the Blues on loan from the La Liga team in 2022. During his time with the club, he has made a positive impact, scoring 4 goals in 16 appearances.

Felix joined the Serie A club on loan from Chelsea in January and has made a strong impression, leading the team to contemplate a permanent transfer, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. However, the financial commitment would be significant, potentially necessitating the sale of Leao. Alternatively, the Rossoneri may look to offload Theo Hernandez this summer to prevent losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires the following year.

“I didn’t ask AC Milan to play every game, just to play in my position… and Sérgio Conceição wanted exactly to put me in my best position,” Felix said on his arrival to San Siro.
