Erling Halland to renew his contract with Manchester City on specific condition

According to a recent reports, Manchester City may need to include a specific clause in any new Erling Haaland contract at the player's request. The Norwegian player has been delivering an outstanding performance this season, marking his third campaign with the Etihad Stadium club by scoring 11 goals in the early part of the season.

With Julian Alvarez's departure to Atletico Madrid in a €95 million deal over the summer, Haaland now has a clear opportunity to claim the leading striker role in Pep Guardiola’s setup.

Due to the increasing interest in the player's talents from across Europe, Manchester City is determined to ward off potential suitors with a new contract for the player. This is not only to secure his services but also to acknowledge his exceptional contributions since joining the club.

According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, there are indications that Haaland is prepared to commit to a new contract with City, on the condition that it incorporates a release clause of £100 million. Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation. However, it is noted that the Premier League champions would prefer the release clause to be set at a significantly higher amount, recognizing the interest from multiple clubs willing to meet the mentioned fee.

Potential Suiters for the Premier Striker 

Spanish Club giants Real Madrid and Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain are also huge admirers of the Norwegian international striker and would jump at any chance of signing the player should he become available at Manchester City.

Despite Erling Haaland’s current contract at Manchester City running until the summer of 2027, Pep Guardiola and his team within the club’s hierarchy are determined to tie him down to a long-term contract as soon as possible.
