Erling Haaland threw the ball towards Gabriel Magalhaes in Manchester City's dramatic 2-2 draw versus Arsenal on Sunday, but he was spared a retroactive punishment by the Football Association (FA).

The incident happened immediately following the thrilling equaliser scored by John Stones in the 98th minute, when Haaland picked out the ball and threw it at Gabriel's head. Arsenal supporters were incensed when the video went popular on social media, however it has since been revealed that Haaland won't be disciplined in any way for the incident.

This is due to the fact that VAR referee John Brooks examined it during the game and determined it wasn't violent behaviour, so it wasn't deserving of a red card. Since there is no on-field penalty and the VAR is unable to step in and propose a yellow card, Erling Haaland has escaped a retroactive ban.

Haaland's nasty attitude wasn't confined to that one instance; the striker for Norway brusquely told Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, to "stay humble." The 24-year-old had been additionally overheard referring to Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus as a "f*****g clown" and asking, "Who the f**k are you?" to Myles Lewis-Skelly, a star for the Gunners.

Erling Haaland was called a "coward" by Ian Wright for his antics during the last moments of Manchester City's Sunday draw with Arsenal. The match inside the Etihad Stadium was tense and marked the beginning of the fiercest confrontation in the growing rivalry between the top two teams in the English Premier League.

Haaland's advice to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to "remain humble" sparked a heated exchange at full time. However, the Norwegian striker had already caused himself further embarrassment when cameras captured his response to City's late comeback. Ian Wright thinks the whole thing painted the City star in a negative light and called him a coward because his involvement.

Ian Wright said, “The one thing that boiled me up properly was Haaland’s coward’s move, bro. I saw it this morning properly. Throwing the ball in Gabi’s head when he’s not looking. When Gabi’s back’s turned to him. Real coward’s move.”
