Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, claimed that his team was not making the appropriate judgments because they were a little bewildered on the pitch. In response to Chelsea's 4-1 loss to Celtic during a preseason match on Saturday, the Italian made this statement.

At the USA's Notre Dame Stadium, the west London team gave a really terrible performance. The Scottish team sealed the victory with two goals during the first half and two more in the second. Thanks to a penalty kick converted by Christopher Nkunku, the Blues were able to maintain some pride.

Enzo Maresca spoke to the media after the game as he said, “As we said, the result is always important. For us, we need to analyze the game in general. And off the ball, for sure, we can improve things and you can see sometimes we confuse when we need to play short, a little bit longer. It’s part of the process.”

The former Leicester City manager added, "For sure, we need many things to improve off the ball. One of the things we did bad today was when the ball was not under pressure, to maintain the high-line. When the ball is not under pressure, you need to drop. We still confuse some things on and off the ball. For me, it's normal at this moment. We are trying to do something new. But for sure, game after game, training after training, we are going to be ready."

What plans does Enzo Maresca have for Marc Guiu?

According to Enzo Maresca, Marc Guiu will remain in Chelsea's starting lineup for the upcoming campaign. At the beginning of the month, Chelsea acquired the 18-year-old forward from FC Barcelona for £5 million. Guiu scored two goals over seven games during his first season with Barcelona's first team.

Currently on a preseason tour of the United States with Chelsea, Guiu has played in both Saturday's 4-1 loss to Celtic and Saturday's 2-2 tie with Wrexham. Many had assumed that Chelsea would loan out Guiu, but Maresca maintains that a decision regarding the Spaniard has not yet been made.
