During the opening night of Champions League action, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards joined host Kate Abdo in the studio. A special guest was announced, and to the surprise of Carragher and Richards, it was their former England team-mate David Beckham. The reaction from the pundits was one of excitement and anticipation, with Beckham eventually appearing in the studio to everyone's delight.

David Beckham part of CBS Hosting Team

David Beckham has officially joined the CBS Sports hosting team for the Champions League semi-final second legs and the final this season. He will be the face of a new show called 'Beckham and Friends' on the network, which will feature a watch-along of the matches with Beckham and his famous friends from the world of sports and beyond. This collaboration with Paramount+ aims to provide a unique viewing experience for fans, similar to the popular “ManningCast,” during the UEFA Champions League Semifinal Leg 2 matches and the Final.

David Beckham's Love for the Sport

David Beckham expressed his love for the game and emphasized that watching the game is more relaxing when family and friends surround you. Watching while talking about it with the ones you know brings in a different pleasure and that is what his new venture 'Becham and Friends' will try to cater to the audience around the globe.

Beckham shared, "I love watching the game, and I like watching the game in a certain way, and most of the time it is either with my kids or my friends," adding that it would capture him enjoying the passion of football casually yet engagingly."

Abdo still takes the Centre Stage

Abdo has been a prominent figure in CBS's Champions League coverage since the network acquired the broadcasting rights in 2020. She has a strong background in sports broadcasting, having worked for Sky Sports, CNN, and FOX. She has reportedly extended her contract with CBS some time earlier, solidifying her position with the network for the immediate future. During a lighthearted moment, Abdo made a witty remark when Henry jokingly offered Beckham chocolates in exchange for honey, saying, "Always prepared, you're a good host, Thierry."
