David Alaba might not return to football after serious injury : Reports

According to various reports, Real Madrid centre-back David Alaba might not return to professional football after not recovering well from his ACL injury last year.

After suffering a severe injury last year, there are worries that David Alaba is never going to be able to engage in football again. Since late 2023, the Real Madrid player has been sidelined due to a cruciate ligament damage. After more than ten years with Bayern Munich, the Austrian joined Los Blancos in 2021 and quickly established himself as a vital member of the Santiago Bernabeu team.

He excelled at the defensive center alongside players like Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger. However, the club has been forced to function without him for almost a year after he tore his cruciate ligament last December.  According to a recent injury report from Madrid radio station Onda Cero, the team may need to adjust to his absence because he may never be able to play again.

According to the update, David Alaba has resumed exercising in an effort to resume playing football, but his knees have suffered as a result of his chronic injury. His knee's cartilage has deteriorated considerably while his absence, causing his bones to rub against one another. Alaba has consequently been unable to train without experiencing excruciating agony.

David Alaba’s career might come to a premature end

David Alaba's talent was immediately apparent in his early career, and at the age of 18, Bayern Munich signed him. After enrolling in the Bundesliga team's academy in 2008, he was already playing in the starting lineup by 2010. After that, the defender stayed with the team for 11 years. During his career, he also earned an astounding quantity of awards. He had 25 titles, including two UEFA Champions Leagues, in his cabinet by the time he relocated to Madrid.

His success rate has continued after moving to Spain, where he has already won a further two UEFA Champions League trophies and a few La Liga titles. It will take time to determine whether David Alaba's journey will truly end too soon.
