Jules Kounde as well as Dani Carvajal were in agreement with Rodri that players don't feel like they have a say in the matter of how a busy football schedule affects their well-being. The Manchester City footballer gained notoriety this week when he suggested that athletes ought to go on strike in protest of the excessive amount of games scheduled for this season.

His remarks were especially made following the start of UEFA's revamped UEFA Champions League format, which requires teams to play more frequently in order to create more thrilling matchups early in the season. His ideas, supported by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson as well, have inspired other celebrities to express their opinions about the rising amount of games.

Dani Carvajal spoke to the media on this issue as he said, "I think if you ask any footballer, they will tell you the same thing. It is not just Rodri's opinion. I think it is the opinion of the players and, if this continues, there will come a time when there is no other option. I don't know what will happen, but it is something that worries us because we are the ones who suffer it."

“I agree with everything Rodri said” : Jules Kounde

Ahead of FC Barcelona’s clash against AS Monaco later tonight, Jules Kounde said, "I agree with everything Rodri said. The calendar is getting longer every year, we have more matches and less time off.”

The former Sevilla defender added, "We have been saying this for a long time and nobody pays attention to us, neither the players nor the coaches are listened to. There will come a time when we will have to go on strike because it's the only way for those who decide to understand us.”

The France right-back concluded by saying that, "We take more and more risks, there are more injuries because there is less time off. Now with the Club World Cup, we are going to reach around 70 matches per season, which is crazy. If things haven't changed, it's because we need to get organised and communicate more."
