At the end of the previous season, Jesus Navas inked a "lifetime" contract with Sevilla, but the playing element of that agreement expires in December. His life will begin anew in 2025, and it is anticipated that he will join the Andalusian giants in a non-playing capacity.

The persistent hip condition that the UEFA Euro 2024 winner continues to be dealing with was just made public, and this probably had a significant impact on his choice to retire before the conclusion of 2024. It turns out that he may have to call it curtains on the game sooner rather than later, as he stated in a Canal Sur Radio interview.

The Spain right-back said, Hopefully I can make it until December, because every game starts to be more difficult. I’ve been in this situation for four years. It is a wear and tear, it is getting more and more, more and more continuous, more intense. It’s complicated – when you finish a game, I haven’t been able to walk for two or three days, which becomes complicated.”

The former Manchester City defender added, “For me, these six months were a very big challenge. I wanted to be with the team. I hope I can make it until December because every game starts to be difficult. I can’t take it anymore, it’s a health issue. There are days when I can’t be with my children. I have it decided.”

Hearing Navas say these things is sad, and when he does retire, Sevilla are going to be heartbroken to lose him. They will be hoping he can stay on until December, which is when he is expected to retire.

Loic Bade set to stay at Sevilla despite great offers

Loic Bade left Stade Rennais to join Sevilla on loan in January 2023. He contributed significantly to the team's Europa League triumph in his first half a year there, and as a result, he got a permanent contract.

Bade had had plenty of tempting offers to leave Sevilla throughout the summer. The 24-year-old ultimately decided to stay at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, even though the club was open to a sale.
