Tomas Holes, the star for the Czech Republic, discussed his feelings about Cristiano Ronaldo's 'disrespectful' reaction after Portugal's game-winning goal on Tuesday, June 18, at the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024.

For the majority of their Group F opening, the runners-up from 1996 managed to hold off one among the pre-tournament favourites. Nevertheless, they ultimately gave up to Francisco Conceicao's last-minute goal, losing 2-1 at full time, as reported by The Guardian.

In stoppage time, Conceicao, who just got off the bench, secured Portugal's triumph with a low shot within the area two minutes later. The goal from the young FC Porto player unleashed wild celebrations from the whole Selecao team, including the team's talisman, Ronaldo, who seemed quite animated.

When the goal was scored, Cristiano Ronaldo was in the box and seemed to be taunting Czech keeper Jindrich Stanek, who had become frustrated over giving up the winning goal after a heroic effort. Both supporters and commentators have questioned Cristiano's acts for being impolite.

Holes, who was replaced soon after the goal, reflected on the situation and said he and the other players talked about it in the locker room. The defender for Slavia Prague claimed to have comprehended Ronaldo's "cold" celebration, explaining it as a "wave of emotion" that occurred during the frantic match at Leipzig's Red Bull Arena.

He said, “We talked about it. There was not as much respect as we imagined. I think it was a difficult game for him as well when they managed to turn the score around like that. I understand the wave of emotions.”

Another day, another record for Cristiano Ronaldo

For Ronaldo, the game versus the Czech Republic marked a new milestone. The legendary Portuguese player made football history by competing in six different Euro championships. At the 2004 European Championship, when Portugal advanced to the final and finished as runners-up, Ronaldo made his debut.

Since then, Ronaldo has emerged as Portugal's star player in the competition, owning the records for the most appearances and goals in the game's history. On June 22, Portugal will play Turkey, who began the season with a 2-1 victory over Georgia
