Cristiano Ronaldo believes Portugal's current crop of footballers deserves the title of the UEFA Euro 2024. The Portuguese team, led by Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes, Paris Saint-Germain's Vitinha, and Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Rúben Dias, is gunning for a win in Germany this year.

Ronaldo will compete in his sixth UEFA Euros this time in Germany, joining Pepê and Rui Patrício from Portugal's Euro 2016 winning group. This will be Ronaldo's first tournament under manager Roberto Martinez, who previously managed Belgium. Portugal's first Group F game is against the Czech Republic on June 18, followed by games versus Turkey and Georgia.

He spoke to the media after arriving in Germany for the month-long tournament. He said, “As I said in the game in the last game, it's step by step, living in the moment, it's calm, if you work, it will go as we have done so far, believe that it is possible, the dream must always be fulfilled and I need to stay calm and we know it's a short competition but I think the team is very prepared.”

The Al-Nasrr superstar added that, "I enjoy football, records are a consequence, not a goal, they appear naturally. It's my sixth European Championship, it's about enjoying it in the best possible way, playing well and making sure the team can win."

In Portugal's 3-0 warm-up victory over the Republic of Ireland, the former Manchester United striker netted twice, bringing his men's international goal total to 130. Despite having played at five European Championships, Ronaldo continues to enjoy competing in them.

The 2016 UEFA Euro winner said, "Anxiety is always there, that tingling in your stomach, especially the day before the game. I'm glad I feel it, when I don't feel it, it's better to give up and stop. I feel motivated and prepared. I see the team quite calm."
