United won the FA Cup and confirmed their place in the UEFA Europa League. Ahead of the next season, there will be a lot of re-shuffling in the squad. There are big names that are up for sale in the upcoming transfer window. The head coach has demanded three things before the season begins.

The 54-year-old coach will not lead the control of transfers, which the new set-up wanted to take out of his hands. He will not be dictated to by Jason Wilcox as to how the team should play, as the new technical director previously suggested that Bruno Fernandes as a false nine in the FA Cup final.

Ten Hag hints at not allowing Jadon Sancho back

He will not allow Jadon Sancho back into the first-team squad unless he apologises for calling him a liar last season. The manager also wants his first-team coach, Benni McCarthy, to sign a new contract, as his present one is set to expire. Ten Hag needs these assurances before signing a new three-year contract, with only one year remaining on his present one.

Ten Hag said: "Pre-season is for preparing and we have to make that our next step. It is one of the only times you have the team together and can work on structures and standards. We’ll be as strong as possible but, of course, the players who go far in the Copa America and the Euros will not be involved."
