Chelsea FC are willing to accept an offer of around £35 million to trade Romelu Lukaku during the summer, according to Football Insider. The Belgian international is coming back to the Blues when his loan at Serie A club Roma expires at the conclusion of the season.

However, the 31-year-old is not part of Mauricio Pochettino's intentions at Stamford Bridge and will not play again. The forward's deal in west London will expire in 2026.

Lukaku's second tenure at Chelsea has been very disappointing, having returned in 2021 for a then-club record sum of £97.5 million. The Belgian completed the previous year on loan at Inter Milan prior to joining Roma on a short-term basis last summer.

The forward has had a reasonable stay in the Italian city, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists over 46 games this season. According to reports, the Serie A team will not pursue a permanent contract with him owing to financial issues. That implies Lukaku will probably move on during the summer if any additional interested teams choose to go after a deal.

It's likely to be another hectic transfer window at Stamford Bridge, with Football Insider reporting that the club want to sell four senior players before July to achieve profit and sustainability targets. Following Pochettino's recent mini-revival, the Blues are currently seventh in the English Premier League table.

“Players want to leave…..” : Mauricio Pochettino on Chelsea squad

The Argentine has been thinking towards the summer window and the upcoming campaign, which is very understandable given that he currently has no reason not to. He has stated that unless he learns otherwise, he will keep making plans for future seasons at Chelsea. Chelsea is anticipated to sell and sign players again during the summer, with a variety of situations to be addressed. Pochettino has acknowledged that he anticipates some players would want to leave.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager said, “Now is going to start a period where players want to leave, maybe some offers arrive or players that we want to add to the squad. Of course, we have already started to work on this.”
