Chelsea FC have found some of their form back in the English Premier League. The Blues are currently placed 7th in the league and have the chance of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League or playing in the UEFA Conference League. Mauricio Pochettino's side has suffered with injuries in the season, however, they have managed to take up some pace towards the end of the ongoing season. In their last game against Nottingham Forest, they made a brilliant comeback from being 2-1 down to win 3-2.

On Wednesday they will be facing Brighton and Hove Albion away from home, the seagulls have been in poor form in the league. They are placed 10th in the league, winning 12 games, Roberto de Zerbi's side has also missed some of the crucial players with injuries. Pochettino's side has picked new injuries, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana and Enzo Fernandez have been in rehab after their surgeries respectively.

Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, and Malo Gusto were on the bench against Nottingham Forest and came in as a second-half substitute. Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka could join their teammates as they are back in training. Despite being back in training they will not be starters in the game on Wednesday.

Chelsea's struggle continues

Other than the injuries the club has been facing financial struggles to meet Premier League expenditure limits and European football. Since the arrival of their new investor Todd Boehly, they have spent €1.1 billion on transfer fees since summer 2022. But the result has not been in their favour. The players the management signed did not turn up on the occasions creating the failure for the club.

There will be a lot of outgoings in the next season, and a possible change in the coaching as well, with a possible review of the season will take place for a final decision. The Argentine coach might be making his way out of the club, and there has been a list of coaches shortlisted by the club hierarchy to replace him in the 2024/25 season.
