Yann Aurel Bisseck believes that his first year at Inter was "better than most people expected," but argues players aren't focused on the points total. Bissesk spoke with DAZN after Inter's 5-0 victory against Frosinone on Friday.
He said, “We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game, and maybe, in the last weeks, we weren’t as strong as people knew us this season, but I think we played a good game. They played a good game, too, but the team with more quality won.”
The defender said, “I remember my first weeks here. It was tough to learn the tactics and everything. As a defender, it’s a big, big learning experience in Italy, and I think I’ve had a good time here—maybe better than most people expected. So I am just happy with the way I can contribute to the team, and I am always happy when the coach gives me the chance to play.”
He added, “I am the wrong person to ask, you have to ask the coach. As players, we just want to win every game. If we have a record in the end it’s nice but I wouldn’t say it is the main focus, we just go game by game and we just want to win every game.”
Inter Milan look set to make new Serie A record
If Inter wins their remaining two league games, they will set a new record for most points during a single season with 98. On April 22, Inter won the Serie A title for the 20th time, defeating AC Milan during the derby della Madonnina.
Champion Inter suffered a 1-0 defeat against relegation-battling Sassuolo last weekend, but rebounded at Frosinone, with five different players on target to further complicate Frosinone's chances of escaping the relegation zone. Inzaghi is expected to stay at Inter, with Italian media suggesting that he has recently agreed to a new contract that will keep him in charge of the club into 2025.
