Real Madrid defeated Real Valladolid 3-0 to get back to their winning ways following a 1-1 draw during their La Liga debut. Second-half goals came from Federico Valverde, Brahim Diaz and Endrick ensured the win for the La Liga giants. However, Kylian Mbappe, who was once again in the spotlight, was unable to provide Real Madrid their first La Liga goal of the season.

The Frenchman, starting as a center-forward, had four shots on goal but just one of them went on target. He was unable to score at all. In the 87th minute, he was replaced, and the third goal was scored by Endrick, the 18-year-old.

Jude Bellingham, one of the stars for Real Madrid last year has been sidelined with an injury. This means that Carlo Ancelotti might have to draft in a new formation in order to make sure that the goals keep flowing. According to reports, till the time Bellingham is out, Carlo Ancelotti might adopt a 4-4-2 formation.

This new formation might mean that both Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe play as the lone strikers. The four in midfield can be Arda Guler, Federico Valverde, Luka Modric and Aurelian Tchouameni. This was a formation that the club thrived in last year and were able to do well in both defence and in attack.

Kylian Mbappe looks to break La Liga drought against Las Palmas

A couple of weeks after the team's UEFA Champions League 2023–24 final victory, Mbappe signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid as a free agent after departing PSG. It ended the long-running drama around transfers, which had lasted for years. He was assigned the No. 9 shirt, and on July 16th, he made his presentation in front of 80,000 people—the same number that saw Cristiano Ronaldo's 2009 presentation.

On Thursday, Real Madrid takes on Las Palmas during their next La Liga match. For the Spanish team, Mbappe will be looking to start his La Liga career with a goal.
