The US Open 2024 will feature some great players and we will still have some legendary football players in the mix even today. This is the reason why this is one of the biggest Grand Slam tournaments to witness right now. Though we are thrilled for this there are still some players who we will be missing as well going into the Grand Slam and will unfortunately not be seen on the court.
One of the players is 22-time Grand Slam winner and World number one Rafael Nadal, who has withdrawn from the tournament. The Spanish legend is currently 38-years-old and seems to be nearing the end of his career, though there are chances that we might get to see the legend in the Laver Cup, there are a lot of people who think that his time on the court might be coming to an end. It seems like we might not get the chance to see Nadal battle on the court for one more season.

There is no doubt that Nadal is a legend in the sport of tennis, but we also have to remember that he has been a huge fan of football and is a massive supporter of Real Madrid. The club had also signed a World class striker in Kylian Mbappe as well. In fact Nadal was at one of their games and there is a clip where we saw The legendary player interact with the young star of football. The icing of the cake was when Mbappe handed him his Real Madrid Jersey as a sign of respect. This was a great moment to witness where a young and upcoming star in the world of sports is acknowledging a legend.

This is one of the pillars of sportsmanship where we see two players acknowledge the greatness of one another and we were glad to witness it between the two. It was a great honor for Nadal who is a big fan of the club and it also seemed like a privillege for Mbappe who knew how great the aura of Nadal is in the Spain. The two sharing an embrace in the end was something to admire as well and these are moments both of them will never forget.
