Carabao Cup unveils new rule, draw details also announced

The much-awaited tournament, Carabao Cup 2024-25 is gearing up towards its third-round draws and matches amidst all alterations surrounding the competition. The third round is scheduled to take place over two weeks in September, keeping in mind the new look of European competition formats.

When is Carabao Cup Draw scheduled?

The Carabao Cup third round draw is scheduled to be held on August 28th, 2024 at the city ground, Nottingham. 

British Television Presenter, Mark Chapman is going to be the host of the draw procedure.

What are the changes in the Draw? 

Carabao's Cup third-round draw will involve 32 teams. The 25 winners from the second round will be joined by 7 Premier League Teams, including - Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The ball numbers are to be announced on the morning of the draw ( August 28th, 2024)

The draw will done keeping in mind the issues regarding other fixtures and schedules. The Champions League and Europa League teams will be placed in one bowl, and the remaining 26 teams will be placed in another to ascertain that the team competing in the Champions League does not draw a team competing in the Europa League. This means the Champions League teams ( Manchester City, Arsenal Liverpool and Aston Villa ) will not play against Europa League teams ( Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur) in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

When are the Carabao Cup, third-round matches scheduled?  

The Carabao Cup matches are scheduled to commence from 16th September and will take place over two weeks. The competition is going to lose its 'regional' nature, come September 16th and the concept of northern and southern ties will be put to rest.
