Robert Lewandowski praised his teammate Lamine Yamal, hailing him as the "best winger in the world." Yamal's outstanding performance for Spain and Barcelona this year, including winning the Euro 2024, has caught Lewandowski's attention.
The star striker shared his admiration for the teenager during a recent interview with B/R Football, offering praises and advice for Yamal's future.
The Polish Striker believes that Yamal is one of the best wingers in the world. Lewandowski emphasizes on the importance of finishing one's career strongly, rather than just focusing on how it begins.
Lewandowski hopes that Yamal will have a supportive network throughout his career, by understanding that success in football is not just about short-term achievements, but about maintaining a high level of performance over the long term.
“I already see him easily as the best winger in the world. He is 17 years old; a football career is long; sometimes what matters most is how you end your career rather than how you start it,” Lewandowski said.
“Lamine is at the centre of all attention, and the most important thing is that the people around him remain balanced and make him understand that football is not about moments or two or three years, but about a career of ten or fifteen," he added.
He advises Yamal to ignore distractions and to remain humble and focused during both the good and challenging times. Lewandowski also warns Yamal not to take social media comments to heart, reminding him that public opinions can change quickly based on performance and that it's important to stay grounded and focused on the game.
“I hope he will be strong throughout his career and not to pay attention to what people say, but to keep his feet on the ground. On social media, one day you are a hero and the next you are in tatters," Lewandowski stated.
