Since last season, Viktor Gyokeres, the up-and-coming sensation on the European football scene, has stolen the show. Gyokeres became one of Europe's underappreciated attackers throughout the previous campaign. Sporting CP's attacker is now performing at his best, and scouts from all over the continent are taking note of his skills. Gyokeres is one of the top players in Europe and is expected to play for major league teams in the future.
As perhaps the finest attacker in the world who isn't currently playing for a Champions League contender, Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP and Sweden has drawn admiring attention from the top teams in the world. Barcelona is among them. Sporting values the forward at over 100 million euros, and his contract is set to expire in 2028.
A lot of people will be questioning how Barcelona could afford one of the most sought-after players in Europe, who has a 100 million euro release clause. But according to reports, Barcelona thinks they could make a deal far more affordable. Sporting has an arrangement with the Swedish striker that allows him to go for between 60 and 70 million euros next summer.
Premier League is also interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres
Barcelona thinks that by keeping a 50% sell-on fee for Francisco Trincao, who is now with Sporting, and maybe bringing Vitor Roque, who was offered to Sporting last summer for €30 million, into the deal. They think they might acquire Gyokeres and their long-term Robert Lewandowski successor at a lower cost by incorporating those rights and Roque.
However, they could prefer straightforward money, which is why Roque ended up at Real Betis this summer rather than Sporting CP. Depending on how well he performs for Betis this season, the Blaugrana may have to accept suffering a significant loss if they wish to get Roque. He may also be the target of Betis' purchase option if he performs really well this season. Numerous Premier League teams, notably Manchester United, where Gyokeres' manager Ruben Amorim is based, have been linked to him.
