In his recent speech at Vadodara, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the rivalry between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in football. Speaking about the political connection between Spain and India, Prime Minister Modi claimed that India has a strong football culture as well and that its supporters were devoted to the Spanish powerhouses.

Barcelona crushed Real Madrid 4-0 in La Liga on Sunday, October 27. In a thrilling Clasico on Saturday, Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski put on an incredible display, scoring a quick double in the second half to lead the side to a resounding 4-0 victory over Real Madrid. This was Real Madrid's first La Liga loss in forty-two games.

"Spain's football is also very much liked in India. Yesterday, the match between Real Madrid and Barcelona was also discussed in India. Barcelona's spectacular victory was also discussed in India and I can say with a guarantee that like Spain there was a verbal spat between fans of both clubs in India as well," Narendra Modi said in his latest speech on Monday, October 28.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice in the first three minutes of the second half of the game, and 17-year-old Lamine Yamal became the youngest player in Clasico history. Late in the game at a startled Bernabeu Stadium, Raphinha completed the resounding victory. With this win, Barcelona increased their lead at the top of the table to 30 points, six points ahead of Real Madrid, who broke their incredible 13-month winning streak. With the defeat, they were only one game away from matching Barcelona's league record of 43 straight wins.

Kylian Mbappe struggle to find his form

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid for the first time since March 2023 after losing four straight games. Their performance, which included a strong defensive line and successful counterattacks, typified coach Hansi Flick's aggressive strategies. The visitors backed Lewandowski, La Liga's leading scorer, by taking advantage of Raphinha and Yamal's speed.

Despite having a great start, Real Madrid lost patience and wasted several chances, especially thanks to an unproductive Kylian Mbappe, who missed four easy chances and was called offside nine times, resulting in two goals being disallowed.

In the meantime, Mbappe's difficulties he has only scored once in his previous five games in all competitions will probably cause Madrid to be concerned. Since moving from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid in June, he has scored eight goals, three of which have come from penalties. This shows how difficult it is for him to fit in with a squad that won the Champions League and La Liga last season without him.
