Barcelona is preparing to submit a proposal for Liverpool's talented winger, Luis Diaz. The Colombian player has had an impressive season, contributing twelve goals and three assists. His performance has notably improved under the new management of Reds head coach Arne Slot.

While there are many discussions about his future, it appears there hasn't been any progress on extending the contract he signed upon his transfer from Porto to Liverpool, which is set to run until the summer of 2027.

Barcelona to sign Luis Diaz

According to the Colombian channel Antena2, Barcelona, who have long been interested in the forward, is reportedly preparing to make a significant offer for the 28-year-old player.

With Luis Diaz expressing an interest in a potential move to Spain, the La Liga club is expected to present an offer of €70 million in hopes of persuading Liverpool to consider a transfer this summer.

The speculation regarding Diaz's potential move to Barcelona has persisted for several months and shows no signs of fading.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can manage the financial aspects of acquiring a key player from Liverpool. If the transfer does happen, it wouldn't come as a shock, especially considering that Liverpool would likely secure a substantial fee for such an important asset.

Can Barcelona afford the Columbian Striker?

Barcelona's capacity to meet the proposed financial demands may also be in doubt. The club has only been able to temporarily register Dani Olmo, who joined in the summer—after facing multiple rejections due to their violation of La Liga's salary cap.

This situation implies that some wages will need to be removed from the books for Dani Olmo's registration to extend beyond April. Consequently, more players would have to be let go for Diaz to be signed.
