Arteta Aims to sign Nico Williams

The talented forward has been on Barcelona's radar for quite some time, but the Gunners are now also looking to secure his signature this summer, particularly following his impressive performances that contributed to Spain's victory in Euro 2024. According to Football Transfers, plans for a potential transfer are underway. Coach Mikel Arteta is eager to enhance the quality of his attacking options, especially since Bukayo Saka is expected to be sidelined for more than two months following a devastating injury.

Discussions with Williams' agent is expected to clarify the potential for a transfer, but Arsenal is prepared to meet the €58 million fee needed to facilitate the move.

In light of Saka's injury, Arsenal has options such as Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, and Raheem Sterling available for the wide positions. While Williams is primarily a left-sided player, he also has the versatility to provide valuable depth on the right. Although Barcelona has shown interest in Williams for some time, their current financial challenges have hindered any likelihood of a signing at this stage.

Williams has faced troubles in translating his impressive summer performance into the domestic season, netting only one league goal and one Europa League goal so far in 2024-25.

However, his potential is evident, and a transfer to Arsenal could be an excellent opportunity for him. Joining the Gunners would not only address their right-wing needs but also present an exciting long-term partnership with Saka, which could pose a major test to Premier League defences.
