Kai Havertz is not on Germany's 23-man roster for their two forthcoming international fixtures in the UEFA Nations League. In ten appearances in all competitions, the Arsenal attacker has scored six goals, notably four goals during seven Premier League games, for Mikel Arteta's team this season.

Havertz equaled the club record for goals scored by Robin van Persie on Saturday when he played the entire ninety minutes and was on the scoresheet during the Gunners' 3-1 turnaround triumph against Southampton at home.

Havertz was added to Germany's 23-man roster on Thursday, however he was released before their UEFA Nations League matches versus Bosnia-Herzegovina on October 11 in addition to the Netherlands on October 14. The German team confirmed that it is because the Arsenal attacker is facing some issues in his knees.

It has been confirmed by Germany that Mainz 05 striker Jonathan Burkardt has been called up by manager Julian Nagelsmann to replace Havertz. Havertz has played for his nation on 53 occasions and scored 19 goals, the most recent of which came in Germany's 5-0 victory over Hungary at home in the Nations League opener a month ago.

Burkardt, on the other hand, has not yet made his Die Mannschaft senior international debut despite frequently representing his nation at the Under-15, Under-21, and Under-21 levels, totaling 41 youth appearances and 20 goals scored. The 24-year-old has scored six goals in seven games across all competitions for Mainz so far this season, including a brace in the team's 3-0 victory over St. Pauli on Saturday.

Who else has been selected for the Germany squad?

In Nagelsmann's 23-man roster, Burkardt, Leweling, Tim Kleindienst of Borussia Monchengladbach, and the goalkeeping trio of Alexander Nubel, Oliver Baumann, and Janis Blaswich are the only six uncapped players.

After Manuel Neuer announced his retirement from international football in August, Nagelsmann was given the responsibility of choosing a new first-choice goalie. Blaswich, of Red Bull Salzburg and Serge Gnabry of Bayern, who is included in a national team roster for the first time in eleven months, are the other two players who are back in the senior group.
