Antony's unprecedented rise at Real Betis

After Sociedad cleared a corner, the Brazilian seized the opportunity to strike the ball first-time, sending it low and through a crowd of defenders into the net.

The goal was scored after he earned a penalty in the first half, which Giovani Lo Celso, another Premier League exile, failed to convert. The Brazilian didn't stop there; he also provided an assist for Marc Roca's second goal, marking Betis' third of the match.

As Manchester United fell to 15th in the Premier League standings, they are undoubtedly regretting the January exit of Antony. He has made an immediate impact, netting three goals and contributing two assists in his first four games for Betis.

Antony's transfer to Manchester United from Ajax in 2022 stands out as one of the worst moves in Premier League history, and he ultimately left Old Trafford on loan after a disappointing spell. The right-winger consistently struggled with both confidence and form, failing to justify the hefty £85 million fee that the Red Devils paid for his services. However, after a few crucial goals and standout performances, it’s clear he is on the path to reclaiming the exceptional levels that initially captured United's attention.

The Brazilian star's performance earned him Player of the Match honours for the third consecutive La Liga game as Betis secured a 3-0 victory over Sociedad. He will be looking to carry this momentum into the upcoming Europa League match against Gent.
