Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana remains committed to his role at Manchester United, despite facing a hard time. Since his £47 million transfer from Inter in the summer of 2023, he has shown some improvement, although there have been a few high-profile blunders —including five this season—that have attracted criticism.
Recently, he faced scrutiny following a couple of mistakes in the 3-2 win over Ipswich. While some fans may express concerns, Onana is determined to address these issues and continue his development at the club, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Andre Onana to stay at Manchester United for the time being
According to the MEN, Amorim is determined to secure a new goalkeeper this summer. With third-choice Tom Heaton expected to retire and the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations causing Onana to potentially miss substantial time in the 2025-26 season, the need for a reliable option is clear. Furthermore, number two, Altay Biyindir, is likely to seek opportunities elsewhere.
At this time, there are no indications that Onana will depart, as he has three years remaining on his contract and expresses a desire to continue playing for Manchester United despite the scrutiny surrounding his future. Notably, Amorim has publicly defended his goalkeeper, and the Cameroon international showed improvement during the FA Cup fifth-round defeat to Fulham on Sunday.
The Red Devils goalkeeper will be in action next week when the team takes on Real Sociedad in the last of 16 fixtures of the UEFA Europa League. He will be hoping to improve his performance as United sets its sights on winning at least one silverware this season.
