Premier League club, Manchester United's captain Bruno Fernandes is on the radar of Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal ahead of the summer transfer window. The Portuguese midfielder may receive a very lucrative offer in the coming weeks.
Bruno Fernandes has been very influential in the Red Devils' UEFA Europa League journey so far. The skipper may lead his side to the Europa League crown by the end of the season.
Bruno Fernandes to be the marquee player for Al Hilal
Saudi Pro League's most successful club, Al-Hilal, has been lacking star power ever since Neymar Junior left the club back in the month of January this year. The Saudi giants were in pursuit of signing Mohammad Salah as their marquee player when the Egyptian was not offered any contract by Liverpool. Since Liverpool renewed Salah's contract, reports claim that Bruno Fernandes has emerged as the hot topic amongst the representatives of Al-Hilal.
As per reports, initial discussions took place between the two parties last year before Fernandes committed to a new contract with Manchester United, which runs until 2027. The creative playmaker has once again been United's standout performer this season, contributing 19 goals and 18 assists to date.
It's important to note that Bruno is amongst the handful of players, United doesn't want to let go in the near future. The club manager Ruben Amorim has asserted that the club won't let go of their captain irrespective of any bid that is placed on his name. Having said that, Al-Hilal is yet to place a formal offer on the table for the United captain.
"No, it's not going to happen. He's not going anywhere because I've already told him! I want Bruno here because we want to win the Premier League again, so we want the best players to continue with us. He's 30, but he's still so young, because he plays 55 games every season," Amorim said.
"Between assists and goals, he's there for 30 at least, so he's the type of player we want here and he's not going anywhere," Amorim added.
The club is aiming to secure a high-profile signing ahead of the upcoming Club World Cup this summer. However, their immediate priority is to appoint a new coach to take over for Jorge Jesus, who departed from his position over the weekend.
