Jeremie Frimpong is one of the hottest prospects in the football world and teams have eyed the full-back to be part of their squad for the upcoming season. The right-back's exceptional play has made him one of the best full-backs in European football, which has raised concerns about his future.

Frimpong has contributed seven goals and ten assists in 22 games across all competitions, building on his stellar 20 goal total from the previous season. Clubs have been looking at the right-back’s progress closely and might look to acquire the full-back next season. Let’s take a look at a few clubs who might be interested in signing Jeremie Frimpong.

Here are the 5 clubs that might go for Frimpong in the upcoming transfer window

5. Real Madrid

In the near future, Real Madrid will be in need of a long-term successor for Dani Carvajal, and Frimpong might be considered as a viable option, albeit they also like Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool. Real Madrid is keeping an eye on Frimpong, but the 23-year-old right-back isn't winning them over completely.

While his effectiveness moving forward is undeniable, Los Blancos are sceptical of the Netherlands international's defensive skills because of how easily he can be exposed at the back. They wouldn't mind splashing the cash at the youngster and solidfying that position of the team with that signing.

4. Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich is considering Frimpong as a vital addition to their team for the upcoming campaign, as Leverkusen is currently leading the league. Rumour had it that Bayern wanted to seek coach Xabi Alonso as well as Frimpong in a double swoop. But Alonso has reiterated his dedication to Leverkusen, therefore Bayern's transfer plans are just focused on Frimpong.

His possible transfer to Bayern, though, is contingent upon the management and tactical circumstances at the team. Given Frimpong's offensive ability, it's unclear if a more cautious defensive configuration will work well for him, which raises issues about his future.

3. Manchester City

According to a report in The Sun, Manchester City, a Premier League team, has entered the hunt to recruit defender Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen. The team is aware that adding a new full-back during the summer is necessary given the backline's numerous injuries this season.

2019 saw Jeremie Frimpong, a graduate of the Manchester City system, relocate permanently to Celtic. During the winter of 2021, Bayer Leverkusen, a Bundesliga team, enticed him away for an undisclosed price, seeing his immense potential. The Citizens, who sold out-of-favor full-back Joao Cancelo, may try to re-sign him in the summer of 2019.

2. Manchester United

It appears that Manchester United will try to solve their full-back problems in the upcoming summer. The Old Trafford team is currently strongly associated with this role. The rumours about Jeremie Frimpong have accelerated within the past week or two. They make sense—Bayer Leverkusen, the league leaders, are enjoying a stellar season from the Dutchman.

Football Insider has since released another update regarding Frimpong. They assert that Liverpool and United are "keen" to sign the 23-year-old wing-back. The right-sided defender's release clause is set to expire this summer, making him a "bargain" possibility. For about £35 million, Frimpong will be up for grabs, which is incredibly affordable for someone of his calibre and stature.

1. Arsenal

The Netherlands international has reportedly drawn interest from Arsenal, although Aston Villa is reportedly vying for the 23-year-old's services. Another wrinkle to the story is that Frimpong's contract reportedly has a €40 million (£34 million) release clause that kicks in during the summer transfer window. However, the Gunners may try to sign him before their competitors in January

White's defensive skills have been on display, but his offensive contributions remain unclear. With Frimpong joining, Mikel Arteta's system would see how well he could adjust, and the team would move out of a back five shape. That's in spite of his excellent stint this season on the flank.
