In a Premier League clash yesterday, Manchester United suffered a heart-wrenching 4-3 defeat to Chelsea in what was a game of football. United staged a valiant comeback from 2-0 down, with youngster Alejandro Garnacho scoring twice and Bruno Fernandes adding another. They held the lead until the 99th minute, but Chelsea snatched the victory with a dramatic late show. Substitute Cole Palmer netted a penalty and a deflected effort in stoppage time, leaving United fans devastated. This loss, following another conceded goal in the final minutes against Brentford, highlighted United's defensive frailties. This is a threat to push for a top-four finish.

Manager Erik Ten Hag acknowledged his disappointment after the defeat to Chelsea but insisted that the team can't dwell on it. "We can’t deal with this for long. We have to recover very quickly," he said.

"We will be mad, angry..."

Ten Hag urged Manchester United to look ahead. He stressed channelling the anger and frustration into energy for the upcoming Liverpool clash. “We have to turn this around, so from Friday we will be in a positive mood, looking forward. We have to take energy. We will be mad, angry and you can take a lot of energy from that and that is the way we have to do it,” the 54-year-old said.

While praising the team's resilience in scoring twice late against Chelsea, he emphasized their character. “We will keep fighting and I’m sure you see: our team, they have character. We have seen an example today as well. They are resilient and I’m sure they will be there on Sunday, to be in the fight against Liverpool. We have qualities. We have great players. We can play very high standards. You see against Liverpool and Chelsea. We can compete with and beat the best teams in the Premier League," he added.

United will be up against Liverpool tomorrow at Old Trafford. This game is extremely crucial for Ten Hag and Co. as they are sixth on the leaderboard. Hence, badly need points to climb the ladder. It remains to be seen if they can turn things around after the heartbreak in Chelsea.
