At the Amex Stadium, Arsenal defeated Brighton with a commanding performance to reclaim the top spot in the English Premier League. The Gunners defeated the Seagulls 3-0 on the road, becoming just the second club this season to do so in their own backyard.

The Gunners were controlling the game and the home team was unable to muster much throughout. Throughout this match, a few Arsenal players stood out, while some members of the home club had displays they would prefer to forget quickly. Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the match between Brighton and Hove Albion and Arsenal

Ratings for the game: -

Brighton and Hove Albion -

Bart Verbruggen - 5.5

The Dutch keeper was crucial at first as he was able to make a few good saves and could not make a great deal while saving the penalty

Tariq Lamptey - 3.5

A horror display from the right-back as he was not able to keep-up with the attacks from the Gunners and also conceded a careless penalty.

Jan Paul Van Hecke - 6.5

The centre-back was cool and calm for most of the match against the speedy Arsenal attackers. He was able to claim some crucial interceptions in the contest as well.

Lewis Dunk - 4.5

The veteran lost the possession a few times and it led to unwanted pressure on the entire defence. It turned out to be one of his most poor showings in a match today.

Pervis Estupinan - 6

The left-back was more active in the attacking scheme of things but his defensive performances were a huge let down in this game, so overall it was a mixed bag kind of a display.

Carlos Baleba - 4.5

His poor passing was the highlight of the Brighton and Hove Albion midfield and his only good move came when he was able to beat the opposition midfielder once.

Pascal Gross - 6

The midfielder was one of the better playmakers for the team and helped the side in the offence more often than not. But poor displays from other players did not help him out too much.

Julio Enciso - 5.5

The midfielder created some chances in the first half but apart from that he was really helping out the defence for most of the game

Jakub Moder - 4.5

The winger was not at all great with the ball at his feet and was being suppressed by the Arsenal defenders on most occasions.

Simon Adingra - 7

The winger was a bright spark in the attack for the hosts and was able to create a few chances as well for the team.

Danny Welbeck - 4

The veteran striker was nowhere close to his best and was being dominated by the centre-backs. He was not able to get a shy at goal due to the solid Arsenal defence.

Substitutes -

Facundo Buonanotte - 6.5

The creative playmaker was able to construct a few chances for the hosts but it all came to a waste. He ended up being one of the better substitutes of the day in this encounter.

Joao Pedro - 4

Despite getting more than 30 minutes in the game, the striker was not able to muster anything for the Seagulls. Like Welbeck, he was not let through by the Arsenal defence at all in this contest.

Ansu Fati - N/A

Arsenal -

David Raya - 7

The Spanish International made one incredible save during the first half to keep Enciso at bay. A few poorly timed passes at the beginning, but overall it was a really good performance

Ben White - 6.5

The right-back mostly kept Enciso quiet in order to guarantee Arsenal's defensive security. He proceeded quite successfully down the right as well.

William Saliba - 7.5

Excellent performance once more. Truly serene within his own enclosure, he sought to play out of danger.

Gabriel - 8

Despite appearing to have hurt himself during the first half, he played admirably the entire time. He should have opened the scoring with a header but they did best to make up with a strong defensive effort later on.

Oleksando Zinchenko - 7

The left-back struggled at first, but as the game went on, he became more adept at it. Occasionally connected quite well with Gabriel Jesus.

Jorginho - 7.5

The midfielder struggled occasionally when Brighton secluded him following his first-half press play, but he made good use of his experience. It was his excellent move to set up Havertz for the team’s second goal.

Declan Rice - 8

It's difficult to argue with another strong midfield performance from the English defensive midfielder. His defensive awareness and using opportunities to join the attack make him one of the best midfielders in the world.

Martin Odegaard - 9

It was a class performance from the skipper and was entertaining to watch because of his swift movement and vision. His positioning in the attack always helps the attackers make crucial runs forward.

Bukayo Saka - 7

The starboy was back in the starting XI and was able to get a goal contribution in this game, even though it came from the penalty spot. He was bright through the contest and created plenty of chances for his side.

Kai Havertz - 8.5

was a constant threat to the Brighton defensive that night. After making a strong move past the defender, he finished well to get his reward for his tireless running: the second goal. Wonderful assist for the late goal by Trossard as well. Outstanding work.

Gabriel Jesus - 6

He had some very nice moments down the left flank and tried to use his dribbling, which the defenders couldn't manage. However, once again, he was a little sloppy in front of goal.

Substitutes -

Gabriel Martinelli - 6.5

He was dominating the wing due to the amount of room Brighton left in his wake. Unfortunate not to start this game but well rested now for the hectic schedule ahead.

Leandro Trossard - 8

The attacker came back to haunt his former club as he was able to score the third and final goal of the game which sealed the deal for his side.

Takehiro Tomiyasu - N/A

Eddie Nketiah - N/A

Fabio Viera - N/A
