Middle-table side Crystal Palace took on defending champions Manchester City on the 31st matchday in the English Premier League. It was a must win game for the away side if they wanted to stay in the quest for the title this season. The hosts are comfortably safe from relegation but would have wanted to upset the reigning champions at Selhurst Park.

It was a great outing for the away side as they cruised to a victory in this game. Despite conceding an early goal at the start, the Citizens were able to come back in a dominant fashion. In the end, the game ended 2-4 in favour of City and let’s take a look at the player ratings for the game between Manchester City and Crystal Palace

Ratings for the game: -

Crystal Palace: -

Dean Henderson - 5

The keeper had a poor game against Manchester City, as the former Manchester United goalie conceded four goals.

Joel Ward - 4.5

The right-back was not able to negate the threat of the wingers and his poor ability to defend often led to trouble for his side.

Tyrick Mitchell - 6

He had a decent game against the defending champions and was able to stop the City attacker attackers on a few occasions

Joachim Anderson - 4

The gap in the defence often led to chances for the side and the centre-back was not able to do much about the opposition attacks.

Jefferson Lerma - 6

The defender put in some key interceptions and blocks but was at fault on a few occasions throughout the game.

Eberechi Eze - 7

Despite being the brightest player on the offence for the hosts, he was not able to do much with the ball more often than not.

Munoz - 5

The midfielder got dominated by the City players and could not muster much of the ball throughout the game

Will Hughes - 4

Similar to Munoz, he did not see much light to the ball and was often seen losing possession than having it.

Jordan Ayew - 6

The winger/forward created a couple of chances but that was dealt well by the opposition defenders. Overall, he had a mediocre game against Manchester City today.

Jean- Phillippe Mateta - 9

The attacker scored the opening goal of the game and gave hopes to the Palace fans of an unlikely victory. He was the side’s most potent attacker in this game.

Adam Wharton - 7

It was his ball that got the assist for the opening goal of the game but was not able to do much after that

Substitutes -

Michael Olise - 8

He was a great spark with the ball but was unlucky not to get more minutes in this game against the defending champions.

Jeffrey Schlupp - 7.5

After coming on, he assisted the second goal for his side and was able to attack more for the side since he was full of energy

Odsonne Eduoard - 8

The substitute combined with another substiute to give another consolation goal for his side and it was a soft goal to concede.

Ahmada - N/A

Nathaniel Clyne - N/A

Manchester City -

Stefan Ortega Moreno - 6

The keeper should have been able to stop both of the goals that his side conceded in this game and was at fault partially for them.

Rico Lewis - 8.5

The defender has often shown his class in both defence and attack. His prowess offensively was on display as he scored the second goal for his side.

John Stones - 7.5

The defender was rock solid at the back and despite not playing the last couple of matches for club and country, his form did not dip at all.

Ruben Dias - 7

The centre-back was strong at the back once again and was the leader of the Manchester City defence in this game.

Josko Gvardiol - 6

The make-shift left-back was able to keep the attackers in check on most occasions but offensively he still has to work more. He was subbed out in the 45th minute due to precautionary measures as he had received a yellow card in the first half.

Rodrigo Hernandez - 8

Another great day for the centre defensive midfielder as he kept close control of the ball and got back possession for his side more often than not. He also got a late assist for his prowess in the attack.

Kevin De Bruyne - 10

The veteran was back in the starting XI and oozed class with two goals and an assist in this game. This was just the performance required ahead of the tough assignment against Real Madrid in the upcoming game.

Oscar Bobb - 7.5

The winger was bright and energetic and was preferred over Jeremy Doku in this game. His ability on the right flank caused a lot of trouble for the attackers.

Julian Alvarez - 7

The centre-forward was great in this game and was unlucky not to register a goal contribution in this game.

Jack Grealish - 7.5

The English winger made sure that the left wing was the area from where the chances were created for his team. His amazing skills and passing abilities were able to create a few opportunities for his side.

Erling Haaland - 9

The striker was making great runs and causing all sorts of trouble to the defenders and got a goal for his splendid runs forward in this game.
