No gamer can resist playing a good game Photograph: (Xbox)
Xbox’s decision to bring its exclusive games to PlayStation might just be the best decision the studio made in recent years. The success of Sea of Thieves on PS5 was only the beginning, as upcoming games like Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, and Forza Horizon 5 are dominating the pre-order charts on the PS Store.
Spotted by The Gamer for the US store, the same seems to be true for other countries, as the PlayStation Store India also has Xbox games dominating charts. Excluding the different editions, out of the top six games in the pre-order list, three are from Xbox. What’s more, is that both standard and premium editions of these games were on the first page.

Xbox making big changes moving forward
The rivalry between Xbox and PlayStation is over as many would call. Any Xbox game released moving forward will also land on PS5, likely on Day 1 or shortly afterward, and looking at the charts, while fans may have a long-standing rivalry, no one can resist a good game regardless of platform.
That isn’t to say Xbox is giving up. Moving away from exclusivity is only one aspect of some big changes that people are regularly getting a sneak peek of in recent weeks. As for Xbox, their main goal now is to make games accessible, one is going multi-platform, and the other is optimizing Windows to work better for portable devices, both first-party and third-party hardware.

What about the future Xbox consoles?
Xbox’s brand was built upon consoles, and for now, it may seem like they are leaving it behind, however, there seem to be plans for that. Since they are not competing in exclusives, the coming years may be a rivalry for accessibility as per recent speculations.
It is believed that the next Xbox console may let people play games from other platforms like Steam directly on the console. How’s that possible? Only time will tell, but if Microsoft can make it possible, it will be a big day for Xbox fans
