The announcement came through X where both Wildcard Gaming and Amouranth shared the announcement video. Another co-owner of Wildcard Gaming, John Griffin, said they saw this as a great opportunity for the Esports industry to stabilise.

“Kaitlyn is not just a massive personality, she is an incredibly smart businesswoman. She is thoughtful and calculated, just as we are. Her impact on our organization will be immediate,” Griffin said, talking about Amouranth.

Another streamer enters Esports

Amouranth is a variety stream that came to the limelight with hot-tub streams on Twitch. She later signed with Kick after Twitch started imposing certain restrictions on the category. The details of the deal weren’t made public.

With the recent move, Amouranth has become an Esports team owner. She will mainly focus on content creation, marketing and other creative works with the team that will further boost the presence and popularity. Amouranth revealed that she already had an eye for the esports industry and was inspired by other streamers doing the same.

“I’ve always had my eye on esports. I’ve admired what other creators like DisguisedToast and Moist Crit1kal have done with their own organizations. In my conversations with orgs and research, Wildcard felt like the best opportunity to help shape a growing organization,” Amouranth said.

She will also be hosting watch parties alongside Wildcard Gaming for the events moving forward, starting with season 2 of Rainbow Six Siege Pro League. Furthermore, the organization is also aiming to enter into other esports titles moving forward, details for which will be revealed later on.
