Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of two games that is getting multiple tournaments at the Esports World Cup and the only one to feature a woman’s only esports event. The other game with two tournaments is Call of Duty, which is featuring events for both Battle Royale and Multiplayer game modes.

While the other tournaments and games do not have any form of restriction on female participation, they usually see all male teams. With a dedicated female esports event of a big platform, women in esports will get even more exposure. Furthermore, this also allows the organizers to deflect some backlash from the community regarding the entire event.

The tournament is set to commence from July 24 and will run across four days and is featuring a prize pool of $500,000 which is a very significant amount of money compared to other all female tournaments. A total of 12 teams will compete across four groups (three teams each), with the top two from each group moving to playoffs.

Here are all the teams competing at MLBB Women's Invitational

Team Vitality (WSL Season 8)
Omega Empress (SILAB: Road to MWI)
GG HomeGirls (MYSG Qualifier)
TLG (China Qualifier)
Falcons Vega MENA (MENA Qualifier)
VSG (Lady MVP x CH S4)
CFU Serendipity (Queen Arena Series)
Net Angels (Myanmar Qualifier)
Zino Lilies (Mekong Qualifier)
DreamMax Girls (Copa da Freya)

The winner of the tournament will be taking home $180,000 while the second and third spot will take $80,000 and $40,000. Teams from 5th to 8th spot will take home $25,000 while the teams in 9th to 12th spot will receive $15,000.

Apart from VCT Game Changers hosted by Riot Games, few ESL events, there aren’t many high stake tournaments in all female esports. The ESWC MLBB Women's Invitational 2024 comes as a great opportunity to push female esports forward, regardless of any controversies.
