The announcement for Red Dead Redemption PC may not have come as a surprise, but the gaming community sure is excited. Fans have been asking for a PC for so long and will finally be able to play the game without using emulators. However, there is one thing may be wondering, and that is the requirements to run the game.
Red Dead Redemption PC is set to release on 29 October on Epic Games Store, Steam and Rockstar Store, more than a decade after the original release. We all know that a 14-year-old game isn’t a graphical behemoth that will require the best hardware to run.
However, the game simply isn’t a 1:1 port from the original PS3 release, as mentioned in the official blog post. Players now have 4K native resolution support, meaning higher resolution textures and an upgraded refresh rate of up to 144Hz.

This means that the base requirement is definitely increased compared to the original Red Dead Redemption. Thankfully, soon after Rockstar revealed the game, online stores also revealed the minimum and recommended system requirements to run the game, and they were quite forgiving.
Here are the system requirements for Red Dead Redemption PC
Minimum requirements
Processor - Core i5 4670 or AMD FX-9590
RAM - 8 GB
Graphics - GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon R7 360
Storage - 12 GB HDD
Recommended requirements
Processor - Core i5-8500 or Ryzen 5 3500X
RAM - 8 GB
Graphics - RTX 2070 or RX 5700 XT
Storage - 12 GB SSD
Going by the regular norm, the minimum will be required to run Red Dead Redemption on 1080p low setting with 30/60 fps and the recommended will run the game on 1080p high setting with 60+ fps. Apart from that, Rockstar also announced that the game will have features like DLSS 3.7 and FSR 3 which will improve the fps even further.
