Last month, there were rumours of Rockstar Games, creators of GTA series prepping to release a PC port of Red Dead Redemption and now, people have dug out the alleged download size for the game and this time it looks like a slip from Epic Games via the EpicDB.

A popular reporter for various ‘Rockstar Games’ titles on X, videotechuk_ aka Ben, revealed that the download size for Red Dead Redemption on PC will be 9.17 GB, with the original news coming from a data miner rollschuh2282.

EpicDB is a database for all video games available on the Epic Games Store. It works similarly to SteamDB which also serves the same function, but for Steam. People can find out details regarding the game, prices and player count to do a full research before purchase.

Epic Games on damage control?

With the news spreading like wildfire, the source link provided by Ben seems to be giving host error to all visitors. People are assuming that Epic Games have taken down the website to fix the issue and to prevent data miners from gaining more information, or it could just be any other error.

However, with the initial speculation regarding the download size, it is clear that the release will most likely be a simple port of the original game. It will not be a remaster or remake, but players can expect higher resolution or upscaled texture to make it viable for current devices.

The original Red Dead Redemption was one of the beloved video games released way back in 2010. Sadly, it failed to make it to the PC despite getting ports to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. However, after 14 long years, things might be changing with a PC release.

There is currently no official release date for the game from Rockstar, and the alleged Epic Games blunder also did not give any hints about the possible release. Alongside Red Dead Redemption, there are also leaks for various other games coming to the Epic Games Store.
