The popularity of single-player video games has nowadays formed multiple TV adaptations. 'The Last of Us' and 'Fallout' are some of the few video games adapted into TV Shows. However, fans have yet to see a movie or TV adaptation of GTA. The wait became so unbearable that fans have now made an AI trailer for the GTA San Andreas movie with Will Smith as CJ.

AI video generation has been popular for quite some time but has also attracted a lot of controversy regarding the use of real videos for training. Regardless, the videos are not stopping any time soon and one of the fans has now created an imaginary trailer for one of the most popular GTA instalments with some of the popular celebrities cast across different roles.

The opening shot shows Will Smith as the Carl “CJ” Johnson, and Idris Elba as Sean “Sweet” Johnson. The video, however, did not shy away from adding other popular names like Zoe Saldana, Jamie Foxx, Seth Rogen, Kevin Hart, Kevin Spacey and others into the mix.

Will a GTA movie ever happen?

While a GTA movie is certainly possible, the main reason fans have not seen a TV adaptation is due to the high risk involved. Dan Houser, one of the co-founders of Rockstar Games who left back in 2020 revealed that there were many chances for a GTA movie.

However, at the time, going ahead with a movie meant losing control over their IP the result of which is something that might likely hurt the image. This was due to most adaptations being heavily criticized by the gaming community.

A similar sentiment was also displayed by Hidetaka Miyazaki who, during an interview with The Guardian, revealed that a TV Adaptation is certainly welcomed, but they lack technical knowledge in this matter and would appreciate external help pointing out that they are still aiming to do things their way.
