A recent leak for Assassin's Creed Shadows showcased details regarding battle pass that had players worried about more monetization in the game. Responding to the leaks shortly after, Ubisoft revealed that all the rewards in Assassin's Creed Animus Hub will be free and there are no intensions for a subscription model or paid battle pass.
"Hello everyone. It has come to our attention that inaccurate rumours have been circulating online regarding the upcoming Animus Hub (ex-codename Infinity)" the company wrote. We wanted to take this occasion to clarify -
1. All the rewards available in the Animus Hub will be entirely free.
2. There are no paid subscriptions or paid battle pass featured in the Animus Hub.
3. Players will have access to regular content & missions at no extra cost.
“We will unveil more details about it closer to the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Thank you!” the company further added. The images are now taken down by the company.
This response was released after various screenshots for Animus Hub showcasing a battle pass type progression were leaked, which caused a big uproar in the community. Many were furious that despite the company promising offline play and better quality of life, they were adding a battle pass.

What is Assassin's Creed Animus Hub?
Animus Hub or codename Infinity is rumoured to be a form of single hub for all future things in the Assassin's Creed franchise. The Animus Hub is reportedly releasing alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows next year, which was delayed to make more quality of life changes.
The leaked pass was also called out as first season, meaning there will be more in the future. At the moment, it is unclear how it will be progressed. While Ubisoft is set to revealed more details regarding the same soon, many believe it is simply a free battle pass that can be progressed by playing the game.
