The Game Awards 2024 nominees are here with a surprise entry running for GOTY

The Game Awards 2024 nominees have been revealed, and voting is now live on the official website. Among the expected bunch, like Black Myth Wukong and FF7, fans also saw a surprise entry from Balatro, a roguelike deck builder that is also competing against Animal Well in the best indie game category.

Since DLCs are also being considered for the Game of the Year race, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is also one of the contenders, which people aren’t really a big fan of considering you need the base game and a decent amount of progress in it.

As for the best esports game, this year, the competition mainly seems to be between Riot Games and Valve, with both companies featuring their best games. Among them is Mobile Legends Bang Bang, who is also looking to swoop the award from two behemoths.
