Ending his professional career on a high note, professional Valorant player, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo announced his retirement earlier today. The announcement came from both his official account of X and Sentinels, revealing that the decision was already set in stone since the beginning of 2024 which allowed him to further give his best in tournaments.
TenZ originally started his career in CSGO before shifting to Cloud9’s Valorant roster. Following a short sting with the org, he later joined Sentinels in 2021 and the team quickly took over the Valorant scene. TenZ in particular stood out as one of the best players.
This also led to the team winning the first big international Valorant tournament hosted by Riot Games, VCT Masters Reykjavík. Sentinels also secured multiple regional trophies and were considered one of the best across North America. That isn’t to say the team did not face challenges, as 2023 in particular was a huge upset for the team and TenZ.
“I didn’t want to leave my career at a low point like in 2023. I’m really glad that we were able to win in some capacity. It was a very nice memory,” TenZ said, reminiscing about the team securing the VCT Masters Madrid trophy after taking down Gen G Esports.

TenZ to remain in Sentinels as a content creator
However, not all is lost with his departure as fans can still find him clicking heads in Valorant during live streams, now more than ever. TenZ is undoubtedly one of the most popular Valorant players and while fans won’t see him compete, the player isn’t going anywhere.
This decision starts a new chapter for TenZ as he still plans to keep up his content creation, which is loved by his fans. With him getting more personal time always from all the stress of competing, he now has more personal time to spend with his partner and double down on everything else.
