In an electrifying showdown at the CS2 Esports World Cup Grand Finals, Natus Vincere (NAVI) emerged victorious against G2 Esports. They claimed the championship title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on July 21, 2024.

The intense best-of-three series saw NAVI clinching the win with a 2-1 scoreline, securing their place at the pinnacle of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). They also took home a grand prize of $400,000, while G2 Esports received $175,000 for their commendable performance.

How to match progress?

The series kicked off with Map 1 on Ancient, where G2 Esports narrowly edged out NAVI with a score of 16-14. This map was fiercely contested, with G2's m0NESY delivering standout performances, including a remarkable 1v3 clutch which kept the team in the game. Despite m0NESY's heroics and G2's spirited gameplay, the team was not able to maintain the momentum across the series.

NAVI's response was both swift and emphatic in Map 2 on Nuke. After a balanced first half ending at 6-6, NAVI's strategic brilliance shone through in the second half. The trio of b1t, w0nderful, and jL executed flawless plays, preventing G2 from securing any further rounds and closing the map with a decisive 13-6 scoreline. This dominant display set the stage for a thrilling finale on Inferno.

Inferno held the key to the title

The final map, Inferno, mirrored NAVI's dominance on Nuke. Despite losing the second round to a low buy from G2, NAVI maintained their composure and control, ultimately securing another 13-6 victory. NAVI's consistent performance throughout the series was underscored by b1t's remarkable 56 frags across all three maps, with JL contributing significantly with 51 kills.

Their strategic prowess and anticipation of G2's moves played a pivotal role in their triumph. While NAVI celebrated their well-deserved victory, G2's NiKo received recognition for his exceptional individual performance throughout the tournament, earning the MVP award and a $50,000 reward.
