Going by the numbers, Split Fiction is the third game with the most concurrent player count on Steam. What’s even more impressive is that Chinese players seem to be more fond of the game as of now, with reports suggesting over 60% of reviews are in Chinese, followed by English at 24%. It is also the first EA-published game to score a 90+ rating on Metacritic in over 13 years.

Split Fiction director responds to ‘feminist propaganda’ allegations

It wouldn’t be one of the best releases if there weren’t any controversies, as some people called the game ‘feminist propaganda’ or ‘work,’ owing to the recent culture war going on in the games industry. Responding to this take, game director ‘Josef Fares’ also clarified his thoughts, saying good characters are much more important than their gender in the game.

How to play Split Fiction for free?

Let’s say players aren’t able to afford the game; Hazelight Studios has also got that sorted out. Similar to ‘It Takes Two’, Split Fiction also features the Friend’s Pass, allowing players to download the game for free and play with someone who purchased the game from start to finish without any restrictions.

There’s an official Discord server for Split Fiction where people can find others to play the game together. This works as a great way to prevent piracy and potentially infecting their PC. For those wondering if this will hurt the game sales, It Takes Two sold more than 20 million copies.
