Gamers across the United Kingdom can now rent a PlayStation 5 or other gaming hardware from Sony like the PS Portal and PSVR2. This comes from PlayStation teaming up with Raylo, a leasing firm based in the UK. The rental feature is already quite popular in Japan where it was first introduced and now Sony is looking to expand more.
“Leasing is the flexible way to enjoy gaming on PlayStation. This service is provided by Raylo, a UK leasing company and trusted partner of PlayStation. They offer a choice of leasing options tailored to suit your needs, allowing you to play the latest games in a cost-effective manner,” the official statement said.
People get to choose how they rent PS5
There are currently two ways to rent the console. First is a monthly payment option, which people can cancel any time they want and return the device. The other option is a three-year contract, which also has a monthly payment but costs much less. Let’s check out the price and payment options for leasing the PS5.
Flexible monthly fee (cancel any time)
PS5 Digital – £21.95
PS5 Standard – £23.59
PS5 Pro – £35.59
PlayStation Portal – £13.99
PlayStation VR2 – £51.49
36-month contract (month payment)

Users do not own the PS5 consoles
It is important to note that leasing until the full cost of the PS5 or any other device is covered does not give users ownership across both forms of leasing options. After the contract ends, people can either return the console or continue the subscription. The leasing option is simply a way to allow people to play on the console without paying the entire amount upfront.
“This is a lease agreement with our partner Raylo. You will lease the device for a fixed term. You have the option to return, upgrade or you may have the option to purchase the device at the end of your lease, subject to Raylo's discretion and pricing at that time,” the statement further added.
