Former PlayStation exec reveals why there is no Bloodborne remaster for PS5
Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida recently talked about Bloodborne and why he thinks that there has been no remaster for the game despite several requests.
Bloodborne has been one of the most desired games by the entire PlayStation community and has been asking for a remaster. Sony refuses to talk about it despite remastering multiple older games, but former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida explained why he thinks Bloodborne hasn’t got a remaster or PC port during an interview.

FromSoftware is known for making some brutal games, but Bloodborne has a special place in the hearts of gamers. Released back in 2015, it is considered one of the best RPG games and possibly the most requested game either for a PlayStation remaster or PC port. There have been many theories as to why PlayStation or Fromsoft hasn’t done it, but Yoshida, in an interview with Kinda Funny Games, gave his reason.
“I only have my theory for that situation. I left first-party, so I don’t know what’s going on. But my theory is because I remember Miyazaki loving Bloodborne and what he created. I think he is interested, but he is so successful and so busy. So he can’t do it himself, but he doesn’t want anyone else to touch it,” he said.
The last few entries by FromSoftware have been highly popular among gamers and the development team behind them is striving to make even better games moving forward. There are more games currently under development and amidst all this, it’s safe to assume that Miyazaki may not have time to look back.
Even if Yoshida’s reasoning may be his views on the matter, Miyazaki being attached to Bloodborne is true. Miyazaki himself wants more players to experience Bloodborne or at least have an opportunity to do so in some way.
In a past interview, Miyazaki said that he is aware that people want a remaster for the game, but that isn’t possible for now. However, he is also not opposed to the idea so fans may finally get a Bloodborne remaster in one way or another; we just don’t know when.
