Skillhub Online Games (SOG) Federation recently came into a 10-year ‘Strategic Framework Agreement’ with Global Esports Federation. The main objective of this partnership is to boost esports and competitive gaming, by providing opportunities to integrate with the international ecosystem.
Despite being much younger in the scene, the SOG Federation is one of the non-profit organizations that help regulate the online gaming industry in India. Alongside this, it also aims to inspire talented players to enter the online gaming spectrum to pursue their dreams.
Speaking on the partnership, the CEO of SOF Foundation, Sibtain Baqri said, “India has long been on the cusp of a global esports breakthrough. This agreement will help bridge the gap between Indian esports athletes and the world stage. Together with GEF, we aim to create a competitive and thriving esports community that is recognized globally.”

More opportunities for players to compete internationally?
Global Esports Federation is also doing the same but on a much larger scale. Headquartered in Singapore, the GEF also hosts various esports events, including the Global Esports Games (GEG) and the Global Esports Tour (GET).
“We are delighted to partner with the SOGF and look forward to fostering the next generation of esports talent in India. India is a crucial market for the growth of esports, and with this agreement, we are laying the groundwork for unprecedented development and international exposure. The future of Indian esports is brighter than ever,” said Paul J Foster, CEO of SOG Federation.
While more details on the partnership might unfold in the coming months, the two organizations joining hands may help open doors for more opportunities for players to represent their country at an international level. Furthermore, it may also help the SOG Federation to further help better regulation of the online gaming industry in the coming years.
