Nvidia has now reported several vulnerabilities in its graphics driver that can potentially lead to hackers getting access to the system. In a recent update, the company stated these issues while also labeling them with a score based on the severity. All the issues are rated above 7 and most can allow Code execution to hackers.
“NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability that can allow a privileged attacker to escalate permissions. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering,” the official statement said.
It is advised that people with Nvidia GPU update their display drivers to at least past the recommended version in order to avoid any issues. Often these vulnerabilities can be exploited to gain access to the computer and cause damage or to steal data.
Here are all the affected driver branches
R565 - All driver versions prior to 566.03
R550 - All driver versions prior to 553.24
