OG may face disqualification from TI Qualifiers (Image Source: EPICENTER)
Sébastien “Ceb” Debs is expecting his first child, and for that reason, the professional Dota 2 player for OG is unable to play for his team during the ongoing International qualifiers. This has left OG in a strange spot as they may have to forfeit.
Explaining the matter on X, OG said, “As it stands, OG will be forced to forfeit from TI qualifiers due to PGL’s ruling”. The org gave best wishes to Ceb and his wife on their firstborn and told them that this was the reason why Ceb didn’t play against Entity.

PGL rulebook restricts roster change
As per PGL’s rulebook, the invited teams to the regional qualifier cannot make changes to its submitted 5-man roster past June 3. OG was also one of the invited teams among nine others, with the rule leaving them with one man short.

PGL initially provided them with a stand-in for one day. Aleksandr “Immersion” Khmelevskoi filled in for their match against Entity, where they lost and will now be facing NAVI Junior in the lower brackets. However, there won’t be a match as OG faces the threat of disqualification if Ceb isn’t able to make it, which is quite clear that he can’t.
“We understand the need for the rule to exist, but object to its application in this context. Ceb should have to decide between supporting his wife, enjoying the most important moment of their lives, and competing,” OG wrote.
A lot of fans have come forward in support of OG, asking PGL to allow them to play with a stand-in. Team Manager for Entity, Noah “Th3ReaLJP” Eigenheer, also voiced a similar opinion, requesting PGL to make an exception in this case and allow the team to play with a stand-in.
We at Entity, ask @pglesports to reconsider their decision and allow @OGesports to play with a stand-in. We believe an exception is acceptable and within the best spirit of competition.

At the moment, the final decision stands with PGL. It remains to be seen if the organizers stand firm on their ruling or make an exception for this sensitive case. The match between OG and NAVI Junior is set to begin in just a few hours.
